Avocado smoothie recipe

hi everyone! so i'm back with another smoothie post.  Click HERE if you want to see my previous post for an apple kiwi cucumber smoothie recipe :) With summer in full swing, i've been enjoying fruit and green smoothies even more! There's nothing better drinking an ice cold smoothie on a hot summer's day :3  and the best part is that u know u are treating ur body well cuz the ingredients are suppperrr healthy!! :D  Since i've been making more of these drinks, i got a bit more creative and started trying out fruits that i would never imagine myself liking in the first place.  I've never been a huge fan of avocado, the only time i ever eat them is when they're jammed into my california roll lol.  But i was bored one day and decided to go read up on some of the nutritional facts about certain fruits *huge nerd* needless to say i found out all the good stuff they say about avocados, whether they are health or beauty benefits. and one thing led to another, i soon found myself at superstore shopping for avocados and condensed milk >:D  The recipe i have today is a slightly modified version of a traditional Vietnamese avocado smoothie.  ok let's talk no more, time to get started :D

INGREDIENTS:
1 ripe avocado
1/2 of a banana
2 table spoon condensed milk
1-1/4 cup of milk
5-6 ice cubes
a drizzle of honey
granola/cereal of your choice
Use a spoon to scoop out the avocado, then just throw the rest of the ingredients (except the cereal) into the blender and blend away until smooth~ omg doesn't it look so delicious already? :9

then sit back, relax and enjoy the creamy smooth goodness of this refreshing avocado smoothie!
To turn it into more of a breakfast food, simply add some cereal to top it off! i love that it adds some texture and crunch to it too! just like you would add to any yogurt to make it into something that is similar to a parfait :9 andddddddd that's it, it's honestly the easiest thing in the world to make~ go ahead and get urself some vitamins too! and please let me know in the comments below if you have a favorite smoothie recipe that u would wanna share <3! until next time my lovelies :3

what hithers in my travel make up bag

ok first things first. I'm so excited to say that i've reached 50 followers on my blog! lol.  I know this may seem like a small number to most people, but it is enough to make it the highlight of my day :D! so i would like to say a special thank you to the 50 beautiful ladies that followed my blog and everyone else who took the precious time out of their day to stop by my blog and read my posts. i really appreciate it! :3  So i've decided to post something more interesting for today's post....a what's in my travel make up bag post!!  In less than a month, I will be going to Hong Kong and Taiwan for vacation (uber excited sdkfjsldfjlssjfsdhl!!!) so i figured this would be a good time to do a post on this topic.  I know it is still super early to pack my travel make up bag, but i know i will be very busy in the next couple of weeks with school and work that i won't have time to do this post.  Also, this topic has always been one of my favorite things to read on other people's blogs, or video topic to watch on youtube!  It's always interesting to know what beauty staples are kept in other girls make up bags.  Ok, i'll stop rambling now, let's get onto the good stuff :D
This is what i use to carry all my make up when i go on trips. (i keep all my toiletries and skin care products in most likely just a ziploc bag lol.)  I got this hot pink waffle weave bag from an online store glitzy glam, that is owned by 2 beauty gurus on youtube- Elle and Blair Fowler. a.k.a allthatglitters21 and juicystar07.  They talked about these in one of their videos and i just had to check them out.  They're so cute and u get to customize the color of the bag and even the ribbon on the side :D  and the best part is u can add a small text on front of the bag to make it even more personal! in this case, i of course added my own name. (yes i do have an actual name, i'm not actually just called miss6 haha)

This bag can actually carry a lot of stuff, all these things only fill up half of the bag, but i plan to do a bit more shopping in hong kong and taiwan,  so i'm gonna leave a bit of extra room in there >:D  u may notice that my cell phone is also part of the picture, i know its not a make up item, but i just wanna include it in part of the picture cuz my cell phone case just happens to TOTALLY match the make up bag.  I seriously really didn't intend to make them so matchy matchy lol~

physician's formula eyeshadow quad: canyon classics

the best feeling in the world is when u find something inexpensive yet it works for you!  during my recent visit to my local drug store, i've come across the physician's formula eyeshadow quad in canyon classics~ The packaging may look simple and deceiving, but the product inside is actually pretty good quality and man is it versatile.  All the colors inside are a matte finish and the colors are very neutral and perfect for an everyday neutral look :)
This quad has a 2 different shades of medium brown, (they may look similar in this pic, but are actually pretty different) a dark taupe greyish color and a beige off white color.  I will admit that this isn't the most exciting eyeshadow quad in the world, but it is just perfect for achieving the barely there subtle make up look.  But u can also easily create a more dramatic smokey eye look by simply adding pops of other colors to the lid. i especially like adding a cool tone purple, but anything with a cool undertone will work really well with these colors.  I also use the dark taupe color to fill in my brows and the whitish color is just perfect for highlighting the cheekbone and brow bone.  The lighter shades of brown can also be used to blend out the harsh edges and also for contouring ur face!! told u it was versatile! and guess what, the size is small enough to make it perfect for traveling.  just an overall staple for ur make up bag anywhere u go (。・ω・。)ノ♡
I did a swatch for you guys outdoors because the yellowish lighting i had inside my house just wasn't doing the eyeshadows justice. (they looked like bruises on my hand ಥ_ಥ)  So as u can see, they are quite pigmented and are definitely smooth and easy to apply.  Not much fall out and blends oh so beautifully.  I cannot think of any negative things to say about this quad, well except maybe the packaging could look a little fancier? haha~ but for around 8 CAD bucks , i'm not complaining.

what are the staples in ur make up bag? :D

Blog name changed!!

it's currently 2:30am right now, and i've finally finished and changed my website banner!!  I have to give big credits to my bf for helping me with this though, i just mostly gave out my ideas and he helped me finalize the good copy of the banner. The main purpose of this post is just to let u guys know that i have changed my blog title from my previous Nursing Station 9-3/4  to My Beauty PillI figured that this name rings more true to the content of my blog (which focuses mainly on beauty/make up related stuff) but at the same time is representative of me- a tiny little nurse that makes a living by giving people pills everyday... hence the name *my beauty pill* I like that it is simple yet meaningful.  Hope this won't cause you guys too much confusion.  Really sorry for any inconveniences caused~ I'm working on a new layout for my blog too, but in the mean time i hope u like the banner as much as i do!! ok i'm really getting sleepy now, time to go roll around in my stack of hay lol~ goodnite world :D

P.S all constructive feedback on the new banner is appreciated!

love for cartilage earrings!

a couple of months ago, i went and re-pierced my cartilage.  (I had done it once before, but after i took out the earring after like 3 months, i was not able to put it back in after no matter how hard i tried!!T.T") anyway, when i went to get it pierced this time, i was only planning on getting one piercing on my left ear cartilage, but somehow there was a miscommunication between me and the piercing lady and she thought i wanted two...and i didn't want to argue with her since all her stuff were sterilized already.....anyway long story short, i ended up getting an extra piercing on my left earlobe (so i have a total of 3 on one my left side and 1 on the right side o.o") my poor lonely right ear~ but i guess i'm happy with the outcome, and since i can almost take off the piercings for the first time, i have been looking at different cartilage earrings :3  Here are a few pictures of my favorite ones that i have found so far.

ironically a lot of these ones that i really like actually do not require a piercing on the cartilage, as it just cuffs on...but hey they are still prettyyyyy~~ and are perfect for anyone that doesn't have cartilage piercings but want to achieve that look ;)  but there are a few that i like that are actual earrings for the cartilage too :)

These are all of my findings so far~ where are your favorite places to get your earrings? leave me a comment and let me know! share the love!! :) until next time my pretties! ciao~*

first blog award yay :D

hey my lovely readers! a couple of days ago, i was very honored to be nominated by Liz Chewy of Every Little Thing for the versatile blogger award or the one lovely blog award.  This may seem like nothing for a lot of people, but it really means a lot to me- a blogger that is still quite green to the blogging community.  The gesture means more than anything else in the world, and really shows the support and love other bloggers have around you.  So I would like to thank ms.lizchewy for the nomination! (。・ω・。)ノ♡  So if i were to choose one award to accept, i would pick the *one lovely blog award* just cuz i don`t think my blog is versatile enough yet, given that i don`t think i have that many postings^^" (but i'm working on it i promise!)  So, according to Liz Chewy's post, i have to write 7 random facts about myself, and then nominate 15 (but i'm going to pick 10 cuz i don't have too many followers at the moment lol) other bloggers that are rather new to the blogging world.  hmm this is gonna be interesting...let's see...

Fact #1
i have a dog named floppy, she's a shiba inu.  i've always been really interested in the breed for as long as i can remember.  I really did not remember when i started liking them, but now that i have this little dog/cat/fox in my life, my life feels a tad more content :3

Fact #2
Speaking of animals, i have this thing for alpacas.  They are like a smaller a version of a llama.  They are close cousins, but they do have their differences.  I'm not going to go into the details about how different they are, but look how FLUFFY :333

Fact #3
I used to be obsessed with Sailor Moon.  I think i have watched every single episode up until the sailor star series? and my sister, my cousin and i even came up with our own "sailor scouts" we named ourselves the raining girls HAHA i don't even know why i'm saying this, cuz it's totally embarrassing.  but we made our own wands and attacks and everything LOL! k shh i know boys pretended to be dragon ball/power rangers too.

Fact #4
i love eating anything that is in the form of noodles...pastas/ramen/vermicelli/udon u name it.  I can probably survive on them for the rest of eternity.

Fact#5
as skinny and short as i am, i took all the levels in swimming right up until the level where u have to finish in order to be a lifeguard.  I didn't want to continue on down that path because i was like 14 when i finished all the levels, and i would probably drown myself trying to keep a 200lb man's head above the water -__-"  The only reason i took all the levels was because it helped improve my asthma, which i'm really glad for.

Fact#6
I didn't wear any make up until i was in my later years of college.  I think what really got me going are youtube beauty gurus.  They are really such an inspiration for many young girls around the world~
Fact#7
I secretly really want to dye my hair cotton candy pink!! but i would never have enough courage to, and it would just need constant maintenance (which wouldn't happen because i'm so darn lazy)

ok, now on with the nominations...i picked from my followers the 10 relatively new bloggers.  Go check them out, show some love

my six scents ✿

naww i joke, i don't have a sixth sense, just trying to be punny here. *coughcough* anywayyy, moving on... what i actually intend to post (as u can probably already figure out by my punniness) are my top 6 perfume picks of all time :D

6.Harajuku Lovers- Love
Words to describe this scent: girly, floral, sweet
Besides the cute packaging, i actually do like the smell of this perfume.  I was pleasantly surprised by this one in particular, because i really did not like the other four in this series...especially the baby one @@~ The love perfume has a very floral and fruity scent, but at the same time not overly sweet.  It's a scent more suitable for a sunny day in the spring as it has notes of rose, peach, pink pomelo, Ylang Ylang, Watery Peony, bamboo leaf and jasmine just to highlight a few~

5. Bvlgari Omnia Crystalline
words to describe this scent: clean, fresh, sexy, feminine
a classier and more elegant smell that i find may be more suitable for the ladies that work in an office.  It is very feminine and sexy, but at the same time would not be overly seductive to scream out "come hither" to the boys.  Light enough to wear as an everyday scent, i laikee <3 but one downside to this though, is the packaging. i know it looks really unique and everything, but it took me forever to open!! (well maybe this only happens with the sample size that i got) and when it did finally open it, it broke my nail FML T.T"

4. Dior Addict to Life
Words to describe this scent: light, rosy, sparkling
I have never tried any perfumes by dior before, but my friend gave this one to me as a birthday present and i absolutely love it! It  is a combination of some of my favorites scents in this bottle!!  With top notes like peach and pomegranate, mid notes of rose, jasmine and lily and base notes of cedar and white musk.  It just smells so pleasant and makes u wanna be around that person when they have it on.  A definite win for this one :D

3.  Versace Bright Crystal
Words to describe this scent: fresh, fruity, airy
I am a big fan of scents that aren't overpowering, but instead just strong enough that u can smell it when u walk past someone.  This one is a perfect example.  It has a very subtle, yet fresh and sweet smell to it.  I especially love the notes of lotus flower and pomegranate!  very suitable for everyday wear~

2.  DKNY Be Delicious
Words to describe this scent: fruity, crisp, zingy, fresh
ok first of all, the packaging is so cute!! the apple shaped bottle is really suitable for the perfume. I got this one a while back, but up until today, i still cannot get over how awesome this perfume smells.  It really does smell like a granny smith apple, but just perfumized...i know that`s not a word, but u get the gist.  there`s something about this scent that gets me smiling and thinking that i'm sitting under a beautiful apple tree every time i smell it.

1.  D&G Rose the one
words to describe this scent: romantic, rose, sweet, flirty
This perfume was one of the samplers that i got from the *samplers for her* edition from sephora.  The sampler came with a voucher that allowed u to redeem a full size bottle of the perfume of ur choice.  After thinking long and hard, i finally decided that this one would be the winner over the 8 other samples that were also included.  The sweet yet non-overpowering scent of roses and pink grapefruit makes this one a perfect choice for a date night, or just an evening out with friends.

I`m always interested to know what other people's perfume picks are.  Feel free to leave me comments and let me know what ur top picks would be :D  but just a note...as good as they smell, perfumes do not replace showers!  the worst smell in the world is when someone leaves the gym all sweaty but decides to skip shower and cover the smell with a crap load of strong perfume. oh dear lord.... so please, stay hygienic everyone =)

K-palette 1 day tattoo real lasting eyeliners review

Every girl needs a good quality black eyeliner in their makeup bag~ one that is willing to stay on our eyes through important moments of our lives without smudging and making us look like kung fu pandas.  The K-palette 1 day tattoo real lasting eyeliners are able to do just that.  i have been wanting to try these for a while now, but since they are quite hard to get a hold of in canada, and rather pricy, i decide to put it off. This is until my dearest cousin NANA came back from japan last summer and was nice enough to help get it for me :3 i asked her to help me get both the pencil and liquid versions of them and have been using them on most days that I feel like putting make up on~

Looking back, I found that I used the liquid liner more just because it allowed me to make very fine, precise lines.  Especially when i wanted go for the winged liner look~ It's also really good at staying put for the entire day.  But the downside is that it is just not quite as black as i want it to be, and also dries out quite quickly.  (I have been using this a lesser amount of time compared to my stila liquid liner, but that one is still going strong.)  On the other hand, the pencil liner really lives up to its name and does not budge after u apply it.  This can definitely be a good and bad thing.  The advantage is pretty obvious, but it can be a bad thing because it makes it hard to achieve the smokey eye look cuz it just wouldn't smudge.  The pencil liner is also quite water proof, as u can see from the picture below:

pencil on the left and liquid on the right~ The liquid does not come out that thick i promise, it's just because it is almost drying out that i had to draw harder on my hand...the actual thickness is about 1/4 of that line i drew above. sorry for it being a bit misleading ^^"

and thennnnnnnn after some epic rubbing on my hand...

So as you can see the pencil one totally outlasted the liquid one~  They are both good eyeliners in my opinion, but just make sure u have a good eye make up remover to go along with these, or else it would take a while before they would come off.~ over all i would give these eyeliners a 8.5/10 and would definitely repurchase if i could get my hands on them! ヽ(*・ω・)ノ

7 year itch? Then scratch it

Yesterday was my 7th anniversary with my bf. i just wanna write a short post to acknowledge this milestone in our relationship. I admit that not everyday is rainbows and unicorns flying in the sky, but the fact that we r still willing to put in the effort to make these moments happen is already pretty damn incredible. No one knows what will happen in the future and if we will really end up getting married, but I have faith and know for a fact that there r still things from this list I want to do with u and lots more :3

For dinner yesterday, we went to this Italian restaurant called Italian kitchen.  We ordered the calamari, carpaccio pizza and the linguini carbonara.  I would rate the food 7/10 ~ i really liked the pasta, but calamari and pizza was just so-so.  but the ambiance was not all that great, since it was SO loud there that we couldn't even hear what we were saying to each other.  i would not recommend it if you are looking for somewhere romantic or trying to score with a girl on a first date or sth haha~ Here r some of the pics that we took yesterday, pls excuse the bad quality of the photos cuz i forgot to take my camera with me yesterday.  Lazy little me always leaves things till the last min, and end up rushing and forgetting to bring everything  ヽ(。_°)ノ

For this year's gift, i got him a camera, it really pushed my budget...but since his birthday is coming up in a few days, i figured this would b part of his bday gift too.  But more importantly, i know it will be useful for him when he is doing his graphic design stuff~ sigh bank took a hard hit </3  But he also surprised me with my gift...an ipad2!! shit man, these gifts are probably the max amount we will spend in the next lonnng while~ in no way am i trying to brag about anything here, but i just want to write down my feelings and the things that happened, so that in a few years from now, i can still come back and read about it and reminisce like an old lady with my dog on my lap...and hopefully with him still by my side =)

he said he's tired from work when i took this, so it turns out to look like that i'm forcing him or sth...i didn't i didn't i didn'tttt ⊙︿⊙

Seche Vite dry fast top coat review

Thank God finals are finally over, and i can go back to posting more ;)  I was at the states last weekend, and our routine visit to walmart has brought me to find the cure for my nail chipping madnesss!! OMG i'm so glad that i found the Seche Vite dry fast top coat!!! I know this top coat has gotten a lot of hype, and i finally know why >:D  When i read on the back of the package, it says that "Seche Vite is unique in its application over wet nail polish".  i was a little skeptical and was worried that it will not only fail at that, but would also ruin the top coat by getting some of the color onto the brush.  So for my first nail i waited for like 30 seconds before applying it, and i realized that it really did not drag onto the nail polish underneath.  Then of course i got braver, and did it with less and less time in between for drying....and by my 10th nail, i have come to the conclusion that....this is magic in a bottle. o.o This top coat will now forever be my manicure-loving-nails's BFF

So to sum up, i have listed the likes and dislikes i have of this product :)
LIKES:
THAT U CAN APPLY IT ON TOP OF WET NAIL POLISH
dries SUPER quick
High glossy finish
Brings out the true color of the nail polish
ABSOLUTE time saver
The right consistency, making it easy to apply

DISLIKES:
The smell is a little stronger compared to other nail polishes, but i certainly don't mind it...since i like the smell of sharpies anyway LOL *dun judge*
Pricy- i got this top coat for about 10 bucks us dollars, it is quite expensive compared to other top coats, but for the amazing results u get, i definitely think it's worth the investment!

Spring has made me fall in love with soft pastel colors again.  I find this minty green color is just perfection =)  Oh yea, the nails also remind me... happy belated Easter everyone!! :3
